Katherine Radeck

Katherine Radeck has been playing music for 20 years. She grew up in Kenosha and started playing oboe in fifth grade. She learned from the teachers in Kenosha schools and studied oboe privately from Louis Covelli. Along the way, Katherine has also learned to play English horn, flute, clarinet, and piano. Katherine received a bachelors degree in music and elementary education from Bradley University, in Peoria, Illinois and is working on a masters degree in special education from Carthage College. She began her career teaching preschool in Winnetka, Illinois where she created a multi-age, play-based music program for her students there. Katherine moved back to Kenosha in 2010. She was a first and second grade teacher in Kenosha Unified School District until 2016. Katherine is very active in local musical organizations. She plays oboe with the Kenosha Pop's Band, the University of Wisconsin Parkside Community Band and Community Orchestra and the Racine Concert Band. Katherine also teaches oboe lessons privately to area middle and high school students. She is also married to her husband, Allen, and has two boys ages 5 and 2. Katherine first came to Kindermusik as a parent taking a Foundations class with her son, Henry, from Emilie in 2016. She enjoyed the class so much she was thrilled when the opportunity came to teach Kindermusik herself. Katherine became a licensed Kindermusik teacher in the fall 2016 and loves sharing Kindermusik with her students and their families!
